This a fangame/remake of the first Castlevania on nes made for learning purposes, where you controls Richter instead of Simon

The graphics don't follows the nes's limits and color palette, but stay minimalist with a  32 color palette.(DB32)

I tried to improve the game with some others castlevania's mechanics like stairs's jumping and backflip.

As someone said before, jump does not work if using keyboard even if you rebind the jump key. Gamepad is ok though.

And a full-screen option would be perfect (if you maximize the window, you see the Windows screen borders, you know).

Full screen: F11 key should works, the game app version runs chromium like Electron apps.

Options: when you rebind keys, you must use the enter key to save. You will hear a sound playing.

I don't know why the jump button don't work, did you have the same bug with the web version? Tell me more about your config plz so i can search a fix.

Hi, thanks for answering. Just tried the web version and it happens the same, when redefining new keys, only the fire one works. I saved the new config correctly pressing Enter. 

I use Windows 10 Pro. hope you can fix it!

I can't reproduce the bug :/

Technically, in the code, there's no difference between jump key and other keys. 

Tell me more about your config plz:

- your keyboard type (azerty, querty, etc) and language

- your browser. Did you tried with another browser? without plugins?

- what keys did you test?

I want it on my android phone. And please do a Castlevania II remake.

Hi, you can play the web version on mobile, a virtual gamepad must appears ;)

bug 1: the jump button dont work on keyboard. i've binded to a new key on keyboard and the problem still remain.

rebind to another button on my xbox one joystick or my ps5 joystick has different problem: when i rebind the buttons (whatever one) and then select the "save" option to save my changes, it seems nothing have been saved. the buttons always are binded to cross and CIRCLE (or A and B in the xbox case).

bug 2: the dpad and axis options don't work, the game always only works on dpad.

feature request: there's a way to go fullscreen?

example: alt+enter go full screen (no windowed mode).

But you can configure the buttons on the config menu.

Gravity could use a little tweaking, jumping feels a bit weird (kinda hover then immediate drop). Other than that amazing job, I love the sprite-work and graphical overhaul.

I reduced the hover time, and decreased the gravity a bit

There's a slight delay with the control response when I paly it using the download. It it a controller problem I could tweak to make better? Overall, it looks very good! The graphics overhaul is very nice!

The windows version is an electron like app (nwjs) and use chromium, there is no tweak on the controller. Perhaps with  a software like joytokey https://joytokey.net/en/

The Jump won't work.

And if yes, what key?

Entire keys won't work (eg. Z, X, etc) tried everything.

Hmm... What browser do you use? I usually play with this keys and no problem..

OS im using Windows 7 SP1, web browser Firefox and also playing on offline portable version, the whip(attack) and arrow keys works fine except the jump(key).

Really strange, there's no difference in the code between the whip key and the jump key. I don't know why it happens. Try to use the whip key as the jump key to see if it works. When you use the jump, hold down the key at least 1 second to make a full jump.

Cool game, i play it, not big fan of the jump mecanich but its nice, i have one big problem, when i fight Dracula and he transform my character turns invincible and cant see it, after that i didnt have any problems enjoying the game :3
